View Full Version : Lake County income tax - do we need yet another tax?

It seems that we are not taxed enough in Lake County Indiana! Four Democrats on the seven-member council voted April 9 to pass an income tax to preserve local government services on first reading. Lake County has the highest property tax in the state of Indiana already. The government complex in Crown Point is a disgustingly bloated political machine that employs relatives, friends, political donors and patsies that will do the bidding of the dems that are in charge.

We do not need more taxes in Lake County. What we need is a fiscally responsible county government that needs to trim their budgets to the fullest extent rather than fill the pockets of their cronies. We have wasteful government in Lake County, and overmanned staff at the government complex and at the Lake County Sheriff's department.

The simple solution is to cut their wasteful spending. Instead they are going to levy yet another tax on us. They should be the owns that have to suffer, not the hard working middle class citizens. We are citizens and they need to remember we are also voters. We will vote their bloated butts out if this continues.

Please vote in the poll to send a message to the Lake County Council that are going to add to the highest taxed state in Indiana.

We may not need it, but we got it. :(

Council members Ted Bilski, D-Hobart; Elsie Franklin, D-Gary; David Hamm, D-Hobart; and Jerome Prince, D-Gary supported the tax.

Council members Christine Cid, D-East Chicago; Dan Dernulc, R-Highland; and Eldon Strong, R-Crown Point, voted no.

Do not forget the greedy ones that supported this tax and send them packing on election day!!!!
