The victim told police, that due to a recent back injury, she has been sleeping in a bed that is located in their living room, She stated that on April 1, 2020, she woke up to Jackson, who is related to her husband, raping her.     Police OK to Enforce Governor's Stay-at-Home Order

    Police agencies in some NWI towns and cities now given the go ahead to take action on citizens who violate the governor's stay-at-home order. Porter County police officers have been approved to make arrests if necessary to enforce the executive order issued by Governor Holcomb. "There are in fact legal consequences if the governor's order is not followed," Porter County Prosecutor Gary Germann said. "I have authorized, only as a last resort, all of our police agencies to arrest anyone who chooses not to follow the order," he said. "Charges will be filed." "I can assure you none of us want to take this kind of drastic action unless absolutely necessary, so please follow the order," Germann added. "It is a simple act of obedience. I would rather our community be defined as helpers not hoarders, selfless as opposed to selfish and faithful not fearful." ...

    We popped into the Byway Brewing (located in Hammond on 2825 Carlson Drive) for a leisurely lunch. The hostess and waitress were very friendly and also very helpful by making menu suggestions. We ordered Cheddar Cheese Curds with a Charred Tomato Puree for $7.00 as our appetizer which came out of the kitchen in record time.     Potawatomi Indians were the original Merrillville, Indiana, residents until 1834, when a clearing in the woods was established for ceremonial purposes. It was called McGwinn Village until the following year when Jeremiah Wiggins settled there and renamed it Wiggins Point. Wiggins Point was a well-known stopping off point for wagon trains bound for Joliet, Illinois, along an old Indian trail called Sac Trail or Sauk Trail. Sixteen other trails came off of Sauk Trail to various destinations in the area.

    Sometimes it can be tough enough to find a great sushi restaurant place in Northwest Indiana. Even tougher can be finding an affordable one. Tougher than both of those is finding a sushi restaurant that fills you up. I do not know of an all you can eat Sushi place in Da' Region, so we decided to take a day trip to Woow Japanese Restaurant in Orland Park Illinois. Woow has an all you can eat Sushi special from 11am to 2:30 PM for for just $21.99 per person.
